Perfume: A Sensory Journey Through Contemporary Scent

There is nothing so personal nor so revealing as the scent we choose to wear, but few of us could claim to understand much about the mystery behind perfume-making or the factors that imbue a scent with a note of timelessness. So the multi-sensory exhibition taking place at Somerset House this summer is a must-visit. Exploring today’s scent scene through the works of ten perfume pioneers from the last two decades, it puts perfume creation in the spotlight, with installations showcasing creations by Lyn Harris, Daniela Andrier and David Seth Molyz among others. You’ll also find a fully functioning perfume laboratory here, profiling the science, skills, tools and ingredients used by contemporary perfumers to create a fragrance. Until 17 September 2017.
