At Studio Westmaas beautiful, refined interiors are as important to us as they are to you. To achieve the very best for our clients, we follow a rigorous, industry-standard process that is set out below.
Strategic Definition - The studio collaborates with the client to produce a strategic brief. This distills precisely what it is the client wishes to achieve.
Preparation and Brief - At this stage in the process, we will establish precisely how the client would like to live and what they find inspiring. The studio then develops the project objectives (including quality, sustainability and budget) and the initial project brief – a detailed document with reference images and text that sets the tone for the overall project.
Concept Design - This is the beginning of the creative process. The studio develops and produces the concept design, which will include sample materials, ideas for furniture and finishes along with preliminary cost information. This is presented to the client as moodboards and will include details of the proposed new layouts.
Developed Design - The concept is refined and developed at this stage, as we go into greater detail within each area. Elevations and computer generated imagery are produced and details such as an electrical plan, final finishes and furniture are agreed and signed-off.
Technical Design - With the design signed-off, the studio develops a detailed technical design package for the project. This is then sent out to tender and the studio coordinates with the contractors as instructed by the client.
Construction - Once the work begins, the studio works closely with contractors to ensure the agreed design is realised. Regular site visits and weekly updates are maintained to monitor and convey progress throughout the build. This happens alongside the procurement of all furniture, fittings and equipment.
Handover and Close Out - In the final stages of the project, the studio will carry out a last inspection and issue a snagging list to the relevant contractors. Once the clients have moved in, the studio will suggest how furnishings, fittings and materials can be maintained.
