Services Design Process

Interior Design

At Studio Westmaas, a fresh, young and easy approach to interiors is at the heart of what we do. We’re believers in transparent and frank conversations – beautiful, refined results are as important to us as they are to you.

The process kicks off brainstorming imagery, sketches and material swatches, before clarifying details with CAD drawings and CGIs. We project manage, draw on our contacts whenever needed and guide our suppliers to ensure the smooth running of timelines and budgets. While always making sure we’re on the same page as you.

Interior Architecture

The foundation to good design begins with well executed interior architecture – and we’re proud to say this is one of our specialties. We focus on keeping you on budget, saving you time and recommending good tradesmen and discounts whenever possible. We offer bespoke spatial planning to specifications of all base build finishes and fitted joinery items, ironmongery, kitchens and bathrooms.

Interior Styling

Art and accessories complete an interior; Studio Westmaas offers an interior styling service for all of these finishing touches. Whether you are after that amazing piece of art to tie a room together or decorative cushions, our studio is here to help. We have an extensive supplier list of contacts, which can fill all your wants and needs.

Stage 1: The brief

Initial site meeting with the client to establish a brief, budgets and timeline.

Stage 2: Concept design

Having established the brief, Studio Westmaas will sketch general arrangement plans showing initial proposals for layouts. Present mood boards containing samples of all proposed finishes as well as imagery of suggested furniture and joinery concepts, to show an overall feel and style of the project.

Stage 3: Detailed design development

Based on the initial concept design being approved by the client, Studio Westmaas will work to develop and then “sign-off” more detailed schemes for all areas. This involves detailed plans, elevations, joinery, specifications and furniture costed proposals.

Stage 4: Procurement

Following the client’s approval of the detailed design development and upon the client’s instruction to do so, Studio Westmaas will start purchasing all of the items listed in the furniture costed proposals.

Stage 5: Construction

This stage consists of co-ordination with the contractors site teams, regular site visits, producing design resolution sketches as required by the contractor and weekly conference calls to discuss progress etc. with the contractor and architect.

Stage 6: Installation & completion

This stage consists of conducting and co-ordinating installation of all furniture and furnishings supplied by Studio Westmaas. Final styling will be done and the project will be signed off by the client.
